The S-channel approach to Lipatov's pomeron and hadronic cross sections
A generalized Balitskii-Fadin-Kuraev-Lipatov equation, which applies directly to the perturbative QCD component of the total cross section, has been derived. The gluon correlation radius Rc~0.4 fm was used to reproduce the empirical rate of growth of the hadron-nucleon total cross sections. The simultaneous estimate of the triple-pomeron coupling was found to be in agreement with the experiment.
