Predictions for the forward cone in diffractive deep inelastic scattering

We calculate the diffraction slope Bp for diffractive deep inelastic scattering. We find a counterintuitive rise of Bp from exclusive diffractive excitation of vector mesons to excitation of continuum states with Μ2 ~ Q2. For the small-mass continuum we predict a rapid variation of ÷Ä with M2 on the scale m.y and a sharp drop of Bo for a small-mass continuum above the vector meson excitation.
